Gleneagles Day Opportunities - Learning Disability Day Services, Perth
Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can work creatively to support individuals with learning disabilities to realise their full potential in their communities? If so, you may have the qualities we are looking for to become our new Social Care Officer within the Gleneagles Day Opportunities Team!
Due to high demand for our services, we are looking for you to join us in working as part of a vibrant and positive team who provide Day Opportunities for Adults with learning disabilities. You will support and enable individuals to access and participate in a variety of group activities within community and building based settings to work towards their identified outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Communicate effectively to build relationships with service users, families, colleagues, and other internal/external agencies to ensure quality care provision.
* Support individuals with varied needs, including potentially supporting stressed/distressed behaviours and intimate personal care needs.
* Undertake link worker duties, which includes file maintenance, coordinating and chairing reviews, and formulating personal plans to meet specified and future outcomes.
* Operate relevant electronic systems to carry out tasks while ensuring data integrity and appropriate security.
* Identify, manage, and mitigate potential risks to self and others by applying existing guidelines and seeking advice when required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm. We are happy to discuss the hours of work to promote flexibility and work-life balance providing the needs of the service are met.

Skills & Experience Required
A full UK driving license and the ability to drive Perth and Kinross Council vehicles is essential for this post, as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
An SVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or a higher/equivalent qualification with relevant work experience is desirable but not essential for this post.
