Purpose of the role:
As Head of Marketing and Communications you will lead the strategic marketing communications and operational delivery of all communication activity across the business. You will develop and deliver targeted internal and external messaging to a broad range of stakeholders as well as strengthening the Ceres brand and commercial value proposition.
Highly experienced, you will have previous expertise in building and leading a new marketing team within a technical organisation. You will be an expert at delivering tailored messaging to a range of audiences and markets. Driven by a deep appreciation for exceptional marketing communications and full of innovative ideas to enhance the brand and boost engagement across diverse channels, you will have a proven track record of strategy development and operational delivery, along with experience of business transformation and change management projects.
Key Accountabilities:
Internal Communications
1. Develop and deliver the Company’s voice
2. Collaborate with the People Team and wider business to build and implement a successful internal engagement plan, using the most effective channels to include:
3. Development and implementation of internal communications
4. Management of all internal employee events and dissemination
5. Creation and management of internal processes and tools to support better internal communication across all our sites
6. Measurement and evaluation of communications activities and channels
7. Supporting STEM activity within the business
8. Supporting our Employee Engagement Forum
External Communications
1. Developing and implementing a strong communications strategic plan for the business
2. Owner of company narrative and messaging
3. Responsible for all external media activity and main point of contact for all media
4. Management of Company’s external PR and design agencies
5. Deliver compelling marketing communications to support wider business objectives
6. Measurement and evaluation of communications activities and channel engagement
7. Responsible for all aspects of community outreach to raise awareness of Ceres
8. Lead Company’s multi-channel marketing strategy across all platforms and channels
9. Management of international events calendar
10. Budget management
11. Team management of one direct report
Knowledge and skills required for the role:

9. Ability to prioritise multiple channels of activity simultaneously
10. Several years’ experience in public relations, marketing, or professional services
11. Experience of leading cross functional teams, with the ability to create an aligned strategic approach
12. Experience of managing external agencies
13. Experience of event management and internal communications

15. Experience of working within a technical marketing environment
16. Ideally CIM or CIPR qualified
