M&E Global is a defence contractor undertaking services on complex military equipment and aircraft for UK and US contractors. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our team.
The Role
Based in Fairford, UK you'll get to work alongside our dedicated workforce on a UK Military base.
Prior vehicle maintenance experience will be required, although additional training will be provided on site. This role is a fantastic chance for you to further develop your skills as a Vehicle Mechanic, working on a diverse range of military equipment in an exciting environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Diagnose, analyse, and troubleshoot vehicle malfunctions and repair problems.
2. Maintain and repair company or government vehicles.
3. Complete maintenance tickets and repair orders in a timely manner.
4. Dispose of waste materials per regulations and policies/procedures.
5. Stay abreast of latest technology and installation procedures.
6. Inspect, diagnose, and isolate vehicle and equipment malfunctions; troubleshoot, trace, and locate defects and/or causes of mechanical problems to determine type and extent of necessary repairs.
7. Repair all assigned vehicles and equipment to ensure they are safe and dependable.
8. Repair lighting systems, sirens, wheel bearings, radiators, heating and air-conditioning systems, springs, hydraulic systems, catalytic converters, and fuel pumps.
9. Utilize on-board computer diagnostic systems and other test equipment to test automotive computer control and emission systems; assess and analyse malfunctions of machinery using microcomputers, calipers, gauges, and other equipment.
10. Inspect and test equipment for mechanical defects and replace worn parts.
11. Remove, replace, adjust, or clean defective parts or components.
12. Perform oil changes, check fluids, diagnose tread wear, replace batteries, and troubleshoot problems. Perform engine tune-ups.
13. Utilize appropriate techniques and procedures in accordance with manufacturer's specifications in armoring vehicles as directed.
14. Identify necessary parts, equipment, and supplies needed to complete repair or preventative check.
15. Estimate cost and labor time for corrective repairs.
