Description The full-time starting salary is normally £69,897.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £120,290.00 per annum. Grade: PROF Full Time, Permanent. The College of Engineering at Birmingham City University is dedicated to delivering a reimagined, employability-focused engineering curriculum. We are seeking a visionary leader and dynamic academic with significant impact in teaching, research, and enterprise to lead our College in delivering high-quality, student-focused, industry-relevant STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) education, support staff development towards novel delivery methods for enhanced student satisfaction, and lead research in themes related to mechanical engineering. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with: Proven experience of designing and delivering industry-led, block-taught CDIO curriculum. Strong track record of collaboration with industry partners. Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and enterprise. National Teaching Fellow (NTF) or equivalent. Ability to inspire and mentor the next generation of engineers. Experience of Engineering Council licensing and accreditation You will lead the STEAM theme of the college with innovative and impactful strategies, implement CDIO or project-based learning methodologies, drive industry collaboration in the College, specifically into the curriculum to enhance graduate employability, conduct ground breaking research, advancing the field contributing to BCU's reputation for excellence, mentoring and supporting academic colleagues, fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability in a fast-moving sector. You will have proven post-graduate level analysis skills and associated computational simulation, use of Matlab or other software, an excellent first degree and PhD in the subject field and experience of CDIO implementation or project-based delivery. This professorship offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of engineering education, drive cutting-edge research, and support culture change within the College and will be able to significantly contribute to leading the delivery of topics relating to our undergraduate and postgraduate Engineering curriculum.
