SEND Teaching Assistant – Special School North Bradford Temporary – Term Time Only PK Education is partnering with special schools in North Bradford who are seeking experienced Special Educational Needs (SEND) Teaching Assistants who are flexible, consistent, and reliable in supporting students with a wide range of SEND needs. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in working with severe complex needs, PMLD, SLD and non-verbal and pre-verbal primary & Secondary aged students. This role is challenging but incredibly rewarding, ideally for individuals with prior experience in special schools or similar settings. Role Overview: Location: North Bradford Duration: Temporary, Full-time, Term-time only Daily Rate: £100 - £108 per day (Based on experience – the more experience, the higher the daily rate) Key Responsibilities: Support the class teacher and SEND students, ensuring their needs are met at all times. Work with Primary and secondary age students with severe complex needs, PMLD, SLD, non-verbal, and pre-verbal ASD assisting with their individual learning and development. Build trusted, nurturing relationships with students to create a positive learning environment. Support students to understand and manage their abilities, challenges, and frustrations, helping them to achieve learning outcomes. Show a flexible and hands-on approach to working with a wide range of needs. Ideal Candidate: Experience working with students with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, especially in a special school or similar setting. Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Experience with children on the Autistic Spectrum and those with severe learning difficulties. MAKATON, PECS, Visual Aids, PEG Feed, and Hoist Training are desirable, but not essential. Some Personal Care may be involved. Passionate, motivated, and highly enthusiastic about working with students who have differentiated needs. Knowledge of SEND teaching strategies and a deep understanding of how to tailor support to meet individual needs. Additional Qualifications (Desirable): GNVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care SEND Diploma or equivalent MAKATON, PECS, Visual Aid, and other SEND-specific training Must have a Child and Adult workforce DBS on the subscription service or willing to obtain one.
