Domestic Services Patient Ambassador

Full Time – 37.5 hours
Monday to Friday – 0630 to 1430 hours
Salary – £23,000
- £25,5000 depending on experience plus Serco Benefits
To ensure all cleaning services are delivered to the National Cleaning Standards 2021 and executed to the expected quality standards and frequencies as per detailed work schedules and SLA’s. This role covers all inpatient areas and departments with a requirement to ensure appropriate staffing levels are always maintained and duties are always carried out safely and in a courteous manner. To act as the conduit between senior ward-based nursing staff and the services provided by Serco within set areas.
Main Accountabilities:
- Ensure the ward cleaning activity is appropriately resourced to deliver the required standards and for core activities to be completed as per daily schedules.
- Supervise, co-ordinate, motivate, train and work with ward-based cleaning staff to provide an efficient, quality services to patients.
- Ensure cleaning assistants report for duty in good time and are presented in a clean and tidy manner.
- Provide support and guidance to domestics.
- Ensure terminal cleans and ad hoc requests are captured and completed in good time and to the right quality for service delivery.
- Monitor cleaning services against set criteria and standards.
- Support the training manager in providing job training and arrange a buddy for new starters or staff returning to work after long period of absence.
- Complete competency checks for domestics and rapid response team to evidence capability.
- Develop and maintain a customer focused team. Ensure that any customer complaints are promptly dealt with, and action taken to prevent re-occurrence.
- Ensure positive feedback is shared with the ward staff.
- Develop and agree improvement plans within an agreed timescale where these falls below set standards.
- Will manage a variety of complex service issues making autonomous decisions to find practical solutions.
What you will need for the role:
- Excellent communication skills – builds strong relationships within the team and across the contract. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly detailed, conscientious and delivery focused.
- Discrete and able to deal with sensitive information.
- Excellent organisational ability with superior time management skills and the capacity to work independently to deliver results with initiative, responsibility, and discretion.
- Demonstrates a flexible approach to work, is self-motivated with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Good IT Skills, particularly in MS Excel and Word
- Occasional use of cleaning equipment, full training will be provided.
- Frequent use of computer, keyboard, photocopier.
