The NHS Highland Community Dietetic department are seeking a HCPC registered Dietitian to join our friendly team.
An opportunity has arisen to work within our mental health services, specialising in eating disorders.
This is a well-established post, where you will work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team to support adults living with eating disorders as well as leading and governing the Dietetic service in this specialist area.
We are looking for candidates with previous experience working in mental health, ideally in eating disorders.
The post holder will be based in Inverness and part of the wider Nutrition and Dietetic service which includes community and specialist services for all of the North Highland area. As such, you will have the benefit of a wide range of skills, knowledge and support with inter-departmental supervision and peer learning.
The service supports a holistic approach to weight and health, acknowledging the impact that both life circumstances and lifestyle have on health and weight including impact of new treatment options and pathways. We are keen to continue the development of innovative and trauma informed approaches; this takes a compassionate stance and recognises the impact of life circumstances on health outcomes.
The Dietetic service operates an inequalities-sensitive approach to improving health. You should have knowledge and understanding of health inequalities, wider determinants of health and trauma informed practice. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, can demonstrate innovative ways of working, can work well in a team, and demonstrate excellent communication skills and leadership.
You will continue to promote evidence-based practice in the team, participate in staff development, new projects and support student placements. We actively support CPD.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
