This is a great opportunity to join a well established firm in Malpas, Cheshire.
We have a position for an experienced Audit Senior to join our teams due to further expansion of our growing statutory audit client base which would suit a candidate with a strong commercial acumen.
Our client base is made up of strong businesses within the local area, primarily trading, commercially focused, Limited Company businesses across a wide range of industries.
The Role:
* Complete whole sections within a statutory audit pack, delegate to juniors and complete the whole file including notes/queries for Manager.
* Complete all substantive testing, delegate some areas to more junior members of staff where applicable and design specific audit test when needed.
* Prepare clear logical schedules, fully cross referenced to supporting documentation and other sections of the audit file, ensuring that all amounts agree to lead schedules and the accounts.
* Resolve simple queries and refer more complex issues to more senior members of staff.
* Supervise more junior members of staff as appropriate, including checking their work and providing guidance as required.
* Manage own time and that of any junior staff, recognising any problems at an early stage to ensure that jobs are completed within budget.
* Review of junior staff work.
* Complete stock takes and write up detailed notes and results.
* Involvement in planning the audit.
* The role will also include preparation of statutory accounts for both statutory audit clients and Limited Companies below the audit threshold and associated tax work (anticipate a roughly 50:50 time split on working on audit and non-audit Limited company clients).
* The role is client facing with a significant amount of client contact encouraged.
This is a full time role but we would consider part time (e.g to fit around school hours etc.) for the right candidate. Competitive salary, company pension and free onsite parking.
Full time working hours are 37.5 hours per week with 1.30pm finish on a Friday. Salary flexible dependent on experience with 33 days holiday including bank holidays.
Experience:
You will have at least 3 years experience of working in a similar role in a UK accountancy practice. Good communication skills and a good working knowledge of Excel are essential. Experience of Sage, Xero, Quickbooks and CCH would be advantageous.
