Role: The Development Lead is responsible for the overall development, consenting and external stakeholder management of offshore wind farm projects across the Scotwind Portfolio. The Development Lead will work closely with the Scotwind Project Director and Northland’s Global Head of Development. For future sites, development support will include working with Northland’s Global Head of Development to identify new site opportunities, lead due diligence support for M&A, external stakeholder engagement processes and securing the necessary consents and permits. What you’ll do: Support the Head of Development to identify, assess, and secure offshore wind farm development opportunities in Europe. Responsible for the development process from inception to financial close. Including site selection, environmental and social impact assessments, securing all permits and necessary planning consents, designing and delivering the community engagement and external stakeholder strategy. Take ownership for sharing lessons learned in EIA best practice and stakeholder management across Northland global portfolio. Scotwind portfolio Develop and communicate a clear and compelling development strategy for the Scotwind projects to achieve the objectives set by Northland’s Global Head of Development. Deliver critical path consents, permits and relevant stakeholder support to ensure Scotwind qualifies for auction and financial close. Establish and track the overall development budget for the Scotwind portfolio. Analysing and evaluating best use of devex and providing input into build-up of annual budgets: ensuring programme delivered safely on time, budget and quality. Optimises the project’s business case by identifying the key value drivers in the pre-FC costs. Protect Northland brand and develop the strategy for engaging with key external stakeholders including National and local Government, statutory bodies and regulators to secure support and consent for the portfolio. Own and deliver the local community engagement strategy for Scotwind inc. public consultations and negotiations and establishment of the community benefit fund. Work with Northland’s Head of Global Brand and Communication to design and lead all media and communication campaigns for the Scotwind projects. Evaluate regulatory changes to determine strategic focus of lobbying and impact on the project business case. Be responsible for delivering the lobby tactics that ensure right outcome for the project on Grid connection agreements and tarifs, Crown Estate lease, CFD auction rules and bid strategy, planning legislation. Lead the Scotwind consents and stakeholder team. Set objectives and development plans for team members, manage performance and provide regular feedback. Collaborative: You build relationships, seek diverse perspectives and encourage cross-functional sharing of information.
