We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable contractor delivering major substation and power projects valued between £30m and £70m. Based in Barking, this role offers hybrid working and a competitive day rate outside IR35. About the role of Quantity Surveyor You will be a key part of the commercial team, managing cost control, procurement, and contractual agreements for large-scale substation and power projects. With a hybrid working setup, you will have the flexibility to balance time between site, office, and remote work while ensuring financial efficiency across the projects. Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor: Oversee the commercial management of substation and power projects. Prepare and manage valuations, cost forecasts, and budgets. Support subcontractor procurement and account management. Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and manage financial risks. Track project costs and variations, ensuring profitability and efficiency. Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to maintain financial control.Requirements for Quantity Surveyor: Experience in the power, energy, or infrastructure sector, ideally in substations. Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and cost control. Ability to manage multiple commercial processes effectively. Strong IT proficiency, including Excel and cost management tools.
