Who You Are You are a skilled and experienced Arborist looking to work with Enfield Council to ensure parks and open spaces are attractive and safe. You thrive in a team setting, are comfortable with minimal supervision, and are capable of supervising staff and apprentices. You are physically fit and competent at working in high-risk environments, including heights and highways. What the Job Involves In this role, you will carry out a variety of arboricultural operations such as planting, pruning, pest control, and using specialized equipment like chainsaws and wood chippers. You will manage and maintain healthy tree stock across parks and open spaces, ensuring all arboricultural operations meet Council policies and health and safety guidelines. You may need to deputize for the Team Supervisor and provide training to apprentices. Emergency cover during extreme weather and ensuring high-quality project implementation are key components of the role. Skills Chainsaw maintenance (CS30.1) Cross-cut and stack timber using chainsaw (CS30.2) Felling and processing small trees (CS31) Aerial rescue and climbing trees (CS38) Using chainsaw from rope and harness (CS39) Interpreting legislation and codes of practice Full Driving Licence with C1 / C1E / BE entitlement Practical experience in tree surgery First aid (Desirable) Wood Chipper operations (Desirable)
