Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Rail Systems Engineering team, focused on maintaining the UK-wide rail network. Our clients include Transport for London, Network Rail, and various Train Operating Companies.
Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, the Systems Engineer will handle project upgrades mainly across Network Rail, TFL, TFGM, etc., infrastructure. Responsibilities include survey, design, and technical aspects of SISS within a Rail environment.
Typical Deliverables
* Extensive experience in system design, survey, and technical engineering within SISS.
* Potential leadership in developing new products or services, including planning and design.
* Managing projects from initial design to production and installation.
* Creating detailed technical plans for ideas and concepts.
* Applying mathematical and scientific skills to develop practical solutions.
* Choosing appropriate materials for construction or products.
* Forecasting accurate project costs.
* Completing technical and regulatory documentation.
* Ensuring quality control and overseeing product/system deployment.
Responsibilities
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of professional engineering disciplines and related areas.
* Coordinate testing of products, systems, software, or infrastructure.
* Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Develop personal engineering skills continually.
* Solve complex problems with innovative perspectives.
* Work independently with minimal guidance.
* Lead projects or project phases as needed.
* Mentor less experienced colleagues.
* Comply with QEHS requirements.
Skill Requirements
* Proven experience in technical SISS, engineering, design, and survey skills.
* Relevant licenses/certifications for the sector.
* Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and other CAD software.
* Knowledge of quality standards, processes, and regulations.
* Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
* Ability to collaborate effectively and focus on customer needs.
* Problem-solving passion and analytical reasoning skills.
