You are responsible for leading the Regulatory Advice team in providing clear, pragmatic, and timely advice to EUI both in terms of its day-to-day activities and for any change initiatives (products, projects) being undertaken. You will also need to ensure that identified regulatory change is first analysed and then implemented by providing effective support to affected areas of the business. You will also be responsible for ensuring that EUI Senior Managers are given adequate support in meeting their individual regulatory responsibilities.
You should be a regulatory SME as well as ensuring that the team have sufficient capability to provide advice across the full range of EUI’s current and planned activities. Reporting to the Head of Customer & Conduct, you should also contribute fully to the success of the wider function.
Main Duties
* Ensure there is an effective framework in place so that EUI’s day-to-day activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies & standards.
* Provide appropriate levels of support to all business change projects.
* Ensure that effective regulatory advice is provided for all change activities such as product developments and other projects.
* Be a key contributor to the effectiveness of governance across the whole of EUI.
* Maintain the SMCR framework for our entities so that the firms and its SMFs are fully supported in meeting their individual responsibilities.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* SME-level knowledge of the FCA sourcebook and associated guidance.
* An understanding of how the wider regulatory environment operates and in particular the FCA’s priorities and areas of focus.
* Strong analytical capabilities.
* Ability to communicate and influence a wide range of stakeholders and experience of leading a diverse regulatory function.
* Confidence and experience in dealing directly with regulators.
* A relevant regulatory qualification would be beneficial but isn't essential.
