The salary range for this position depends on experience level ranging from $76,000 to $95,000.00
Job Summary:
Responsible for high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage transmission and distribution line designs for all operating companies in Avangrid Networks. Line designs include structural or electrical calculations, routing, and preparation of engineering drawings.
The electric delivery system in Maine contains approximately 2,600 miles of transmission lines and 317 substations. The electric delivery system in New York contains approximately 5,600 miles of transmission lines and 621 substations. The electric delivery system in Connecticut contains approximately 130 miles of transmission lines and 28 bulk electric supply substations.
Position reports to a Manager for the Customer Funded Development Projects, but the position will work day-to-day in a cross-functional project team and support project needs as dictated by the unit manager.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Customer Funded Development project engineering performance including all phases such as: scoping and budgeting, pre-conceptual engineering, and engineering design.
2. Responsible for creating new conceptual designs.
3. Proactively identify and perform studies that innovatively solve engineering problems with broad impact to the business. Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve problems or to improve processes/services.
4. Perform engineering studies to evaluate equipment and system performance and effectiveness, and analyze operational issues in support of system reliability and operational efficiency.
5. Develop and validate information needed for engineering analyses and apply engineering judgment to solve technical problems.
6. Ensure all engineering designs meet applicable company, local, state, and national codes and standards.
7. Represent the company on regional and national committees when needed.

Required Education:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
2. 3 years minimum relevant experience.
