The Role As the Credit & Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial and accounting operations. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially minded individual who can work collaboratively with the leadership team and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Financial Oversight & Reporting Full responsibility for cash management, including sales and purchase ledgers Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheets, and budget variance reports Stock and fixed asset management, ensuring accurate reporting Sales analysis & forecasting as part of the management accounts pack Cash flow forecasting and bank reconciliations Budget creation, monitoring, and reporting Credit Control & Risk Management Manage the company’s invoice finance facility and banking relationships Oversee customer credit control and debt management, ensuring timely payments Provide weekly credit risk reports to directors and manage customer credit limits Handle credit insurance policies, liaising with brokers and underwriters to mitigate risk Payroll, Compliance & Supplier Management Ensure statutory payments are made to HMRC Manage VAT compliance, including import and export requirements Oversee payroll processing through Sage Payroll Control supplier payments, including international and foreign currency transactions Strategic Business Support Support the leadership team in strategic business planning Provide advice on financing acquisitions and investment opportunities Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency What We’re Looking For Significant accounting experience at a management level within a commercial environment Proficiency in Sage 50 Cloud, Sage Payroll, and Excel Experience in credit risk management is desirable AAT Level 4 or CIMA finalist preferred (CICM qualification is an advantage) Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and with external stakeholders What’s on Offer Competitive salary (DOE) Discretionary annual bonuses based on company performance A chance to be part of a stable, growing business with a strong reputation in the steel industry Career progression opportunities, with scope to influence company-wide financial decisions This is a fantastic role for someone looking to take ownership of a finance function within a fast-paced, commercially focused steel stockholder.
