BAM Nuttall are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Cost Manager who can strengthen our existing team, delivering large civil engineering projects across Scotland. The projects are predominantly within the energy infrastructure sector, building new substations and HVDC converter stations to support Scotland's transition to net Zero.
As a Cost Manager, the role will see you support the SLT for BAM Nuttall Civils in Scotland, by contributing to the successful commercial and financial outcome of Scotland Region.
Your work environment
* The role is predominantly based at our Kilsyth Office, however you may be required to be Project based on occasion, and with the opportunity to work flexibly in line with our policy.

Your mission
* Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy and participate fully in the ”Everyone Safe and Well Every Day” initiative
* Communicate effectively with all site staff and area/local/group teams
* Utilise computer software packages for word processing, spread-sheets, graphics and presentations
* Process Regional Subcontract Payments
* Responsibility for collating all relevant Project Data and producing Regional Management Reporting documents monthly, quarterly and annually
* Monitoring of Divisional Company Tied Costs (CTC) and production of monthly CTC report and Quarterly Forecast, highlighting movements and trends against Budget
* Produce Cost Forecast for Regional Offices to meet Operational Plan
* Production of Monthly Cash Report
* Monitoring of outstanding cash for Projects
* Production of internal JV payment applications
* Training of all new commercial assistants on in house databases, SAP, MyTime, Assessed Cost Database, Rental Results to ensure Regional Standards are upheld
* Monitoring of all outstanding bought ledger invoices and providing support to Projects with invoice clearance
* Production of monthly staff allocations via time management solution to ensure accurate allocations submitted to Group each month
* Delivery of cost control presentations at Project Start Up
* Production of Working Estimates for newly awarded Projects
* Production of Regional Cost Journals
* Performing minimum of 2 site safety tours a year
* Ongoing maintenance of information on in house BAM Management Reporting software
* Managing effective communication between employees, customers and suppliers to resolve issues and escalate as appropriate.
* Supporting project teams with required internal and external audit requirements.
* Processing and checking of all supplier invoices.
* Carry out effective Performance and Development Reviews and setting SMART departmental objectives for the team
* Financial study support will be offered as part of the role development
Who are we looking for?
* Understand basic financial concepts (revenue cost, capital cost, profit, cash flow & revenue)
* Knowledge and experience of using software solutions to support delivery, document control, reporting and dashboarding, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint. Willingness to develop these skills wider including PowerBi.
* Use knowledge of financial systems & accounting processes to extract information from the most appropriate sources & collate into management reports for line & functional managers.
* Use knowledge & experience to analyse, interpret & challenge financial information in line with legislation & standards.
* Demonstrate using previous experience and examples how you have managed a team through effective, proactive and collaborative communication to ensure all tasks are delivered in accordance with business / project requirements.
