Amica Care offers a range of friendly, welcoming and professional support services, including occasional day care, to assisted living providing the independence many of our residents desire, through to specialist dementia care for those in most need of our support.
We are recruiting for a Senior Nurse to join our fantastic team in Plymouth for 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of circa £50,000 DOE.
You will be an expert in clinical leadership, providing assessments, advice and care for a range of conditions, ensuring continuous improvements to meet the changing needs of our residents. You will be an inspirational leader and be responsible for supporting the nursing team, guiding them on the floor and working with healthcare professionals to ensure the physical, emotional and social support for our residents.
Day to Day includes:
* Lead, direct, supervise and support nurses and all other care staff within the home, ensuring services respond flexibly to residents' needs.
* Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines, proactively managing risks and resolving issues.
* Liaise with relatives and other significant people in residents' lives, as well as members of multidisciplinary teams, to support residents' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing.
* Address the physical, psychological, and social needs of residents, working in line with Amica Care's policies and procedures.
* Provide a safe and supportive environment for residents with a range of physical and mental needs, making critical clinical decisions using professional judgment.
* Oversee medication management, ensuring medications are ordered, received, stored, and administered appropriately.
* Support the management team in establishing a clear line management structure, and contribute to staff development through clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to ensure competence and compliance with policies and statutory requirements.
Requirements include:
* Current NMC registration and up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices.
* At least 2 years' experience as a nurse in a healthcare or similar setting.
* Knowledge of CQC regulations.
* Understanding of older people's care.
* Knowledge of dementia and complex healthcare needs.
* Healthcare professional qualification / Level 4/5 (desirable).
* Strong assessment and care planning skills.
* Excellent leadership skills.
* Ability to work within staff values, promoting effective communication, teamwork, and a positive attitude. A person-centred and thoughtful approach to nursing is essential.
