1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant – Make a Difference Every Day!
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and ready to play a key role in their learning journey? We're working with a vibrant school in Basildon to find a dedicated 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant. If you have experience or a keen interest in supporting pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do:
* Support a child on a 1:1 basis, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
* Nurture positive relationships and create a safe, engaging learning environment.
* Apply effective strategies to encourage participation and manage challenging behaviour.
* Assist during lunchtime, ensuring students are supported throughout their day.

What We’re Looking For:
* Passion for working with children, especially those with SEN.
* Resilience and strong de-escalation skills.
* Experience or an interest in supporting pupils with a range of needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Asperger’s, cerebral palsy).
* Knowledge of the EYFS or KS1 curriculum is a bonus.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff.
* A flexible, can-do attitude – every day is different, and you’ll need to adapt to various tasks and routines.
What You Need:
* Reside in the UK with the right to work.
* An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
* Contactable references.
* Preferably, relevant NVQ qualifications or equivalent experience.
* A solid grasp of English, Mathematics, and basic IT skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
