Job Summary
As Programme Lead for Gambling Harm you will project manage, lead and deliver the organisation's portfolio of work focusing on gambling. This role will advance the growing body of gambling harm work that Simon Community Scotland has produced and embed gambling harm across our teams. It will also raise awareness of gambling harm and homelessness internally and across Scotland, reduce stigma among staff and the people we support, and create tailored pathways for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
This is an emerging and developing area of work for the organisation and the role includes leading and coordinating projects, workforce training and development, building excellent relationships internally and externally and driving forward change in this area of work. Gambling can be both a cause and consequence of homelessness and we are committed to improving what is currently available for people experiencing gambling harm.
Job Purpose
Leading a small team of development workers you will -
1. Project manage the gambling harm workstream - including community, digital and research elements.
2. Design and deliver training for to the workforce to raise awareness of gambling both internally and externally
3. Build on and develop key partnerships across local and national government, organisations and other third sector organisations
4. Line manage a small hybrid team of staff on key development projects
5. Through local networks and partnerships identify opportunities to improve service provision for people experiencing gambling harm.
Key Responsibilities
6. Creating an evidence base for the prevention of homelessness where gambling is a direct and indirect cause.
7. Project management of the gambling harm workstreams
8. Ensure projects are delivered to high quality standards, within timescales and evaluate and report outcomes and impact
9. Promote, engage with and work with key stakeholders, including people affected by gambling harm, funders, organisations, academics, researchers, local and national government
10. Train our teams to have the knowledge and understanding of gambling harm to advocate and support people most affected.
11. Support our teams to have increased knowledge around gambling, allowing for a personalised, flexible and responsive workforce.
12. Create and produce evidence of our contribution to the overall service improvement locally, in partnership and in collaboration with service providers.
Personal Specification: Training and Qualifications
Essential -
13. SSSC recognised practice qualification, SVQ Level 7, or willing to work towards.
14. Sound understanding of harm reduction and homelessness within the Scottish context

Experience and knowledge of gambling harm
