The role
We have learners who need you to make a difference in their lives now who are situated throughout Solihull. These learners will require dedicated, in-person support to enable their academic success - if you’re an engaging teacher or tutor, experienced in supporting KS1/KS2 English, Maths or Science and who would relish the opportunity to work with students in their own homes or schools delivering tuition on a 1:1 or small group basis, then we’d love to work with you.
You’ll provide in-person, daytime tuition to learners who are struggling to meet age-related academic expectations. These opportunities to tutor are tailored with your availability in mind and can vary between 5-25+ hours per week depending on learner requirements. Your skill and expertise will play a leading role in improving the self-confidence and subject knowledge of your learner, ultimately re-engaging them with education and providing a positive learning outcome.
Learners referred to us may demonstrate complex learning requirements - distinct experience of working with children who present the following will be advantageous:
* Special educational needs (SEN) such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Dyslexia or Dyspraxia
* Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
* Childhood trauma
Key responsibilities
* Create lesson plans and deliver tuition that is designed to engage, inspire and teach.
* Monitor your learner’s progress and provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with your learner’s guardians/teachers to ensure their academic success.
* Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and learner performance through our virtual learning platform.

Requirements
* Must hold Qualified Teacher Status.
* Minimum 6 months UK teaching/tutoring experience.
* Must live and be eligible to work in the UK.
* Must be willing to undertake a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and referencing process, as well as subscribing to the DBS Update Service.
* A commitment to safeguarding.
* Experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH and other complex needs.
