We are currently recruiting for an experienced estimator to join our client at their facility in the Bristol area. The role is working for a trailblazer in the high voltage electrical engineering sector, specialising in electrical power infrastructure, grid connections, and renewable energy generation.

The role will be part of the sales and tendering team, responsible for quoting high value projects and producing detailed cost estimates, winning bid submissions, bid presentations, contract negotiations, and eventual handover to electrical engineering project teams, in accordance with the company's agreed business strategy and requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
1. Managing the full life cycle of project enquiries from initial enquiry through to estimation, submission, clarifications, negotiations, and contract award.
2. Developing a strong understanding of client's commercial and technical requirements.
3. Producing and delivering high-quality, technical and commercial bid documentation, ensuring that structured responses are written in the context of the company's values and unique selling points.
4. Setting out and building up detailed project costings.
5. Building strong subcontractor and supplier relationships.
6. Carrying out site surveys and attending pre-tender, post-tender, and pre-contract meetings.
7. Updating and tracking projects through the CRM system and providing regular progress reporting.
8. Organising and managing effective use of time to submit completed bids and proposals for review and approval prior to final submissions.
9. Projecting a professional image to clients and colleagues.
10. Contributing to the future success of the company and its clients.

What You Need for the role:
1. Proven knowledge of High Voltage products, substations, utility networks, and ICP works.
2. Proven capability and technical competence in producing technical cost estimates and delivering tenders within the high voltage electrical infrastructure sector (transmission or distribution) in renewable energy, EV, commercial and industrial generation, and grid stability markets or highly allied experience.
3. Good high voltage technical and commercial knowledge with the ability to interpret complex documents, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
5. Excellent IT skills.
6. Sound commercial acumen.
7. Strong report writing skills and the ability to communicate technical and commercial information clearly and concisely.
8. Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
9. Good negotiation skills.
10. Ability to work within and contribute to a dynamic team.
11. Open to change, resilient, and proactive.
12. Must be available to travel on work-related business throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays.
13. Full UK driving licence.
