Legal and Compliance Manager
Location: Cannock
Salary: £DOE plus Bonus and excellent benefits
My well-established and developing client is looking to recruit an experienced Legal and Compliance Manager to ensure that the business remains compliant with all relevant legal and industry standards. Reporting to the Operations Director, this role would suit someone with experience in a similar role, ideally with a background in packaging, however not essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management of all company insurance: Building, Stock/product, Marine, fleet, public liability, and employers' liability.
2. Main point of contact for all insurance claims, ensuring each claim is dealt with methodically, processed from start to finish, and closed out in a timely manner.
3. Maintenance of Industry accreditations including ISO, FSC, BRC, Ecovardis, FORS, and becoming carbon neutral.
4. Management of all legal and compliance internal and external audits.
5. Keep up to date with new and existing Environmental and compliance related legislation, rules, and company standards, including fire prevention and site inspections.
6. Support the SMT and HR teams to ensure company policies and procedures are up to date and relevant.
7. Maintenance of staff training matrix.
8. Keep the companies' terms and conditions in line with the vision (sales & purchase).
9. Support the H&S department to ensure compliance with current working guidelines to provide a safe place to work.
10. Maintaining the central QMS/database for Environmental, Compliance, and Health and Safety documents.
11. Support the Finance and SMT in any topics that may arise, including utility contract reviews.
12. Support the Sales and Procurement Team in any contractual terms needed for tendering purposes, including responding to customer and/or supplier compliance questionnaires.
