JOB TITLE : Quality Manager GRADE : Up to (£32,500) LOCATION : Food Network Corporation unit Middlesbrough/CHoiCE Sites RESPONSIBLE TO : Head of Production & Services RESPONSIBLE FOR : Quality & Compliance JOB SUMMARY To be responsible for the efficient and effective planning and coordination of quality processes associated with all operational processes with all food production units at Food Network and CHoICE food production sites. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Ensures the entire food production process operates within all recognised and agreed quality standards. 2. Deputises for Production Manager/ Head of Production & Services at Food Network 3.Leads on all technical aspects of food production processes. 4.Monitors for the effective, efficient and safe operation of all food production standards from delivery of ingredients to finished product leaving the unit. 5.Ensures all procedures to the storage of ambient, frozen and chilled foods are adhered to at all times and always in compliance with all known regulations related to food hygiene and safety. 6.Actively participate in food production processes for the purpose of "on the job" training and effective customer relations with all users of the service. 7. To compile and provide Senior CHoICE Managers with compliance reports from information collated from established internal processes, which the post holder will contribute to. The post holder will follow up with appropriate and agreed actions arising from this data. 8.Engage with the maintenance of all supplies of all essential ingredients and other products to enable a safe and efficient production line, adhering to all standards and company policies. 9.Ensure all appropriate records are kept for the above as directed by the Head of Productio & Services 10.Ensure that all equipment and materials are used are in compliance with all quality standards, as well as other company policies. 11.Lead on the formulation and implementation of effective training programmes in food production quality processes relating to quality processes and associated technical details. 12.Activley involved in all review meetings to ensure that local procedures are adhered to at all times, and local procedures are regulalrly reviewed. 13.Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with Food Network and CHoICE staff, production unit staff and key customers, as well as other external bodies vital to the success of the business. 14.Actively participate and co-operate in the development of the business with other members of staff as appropriate. 15.Ensure the efficient reporting of all equipment and mechanical faults, and that local procedures are followed. 16.Maintain and review all quality documemtation, updating and agreeing updates with the senior team,in order to formally ratify all changes. 17.Engage fully in the formulation of all specifications. 18.Organise and undertake duty of care visists and lead on supplier approaval processes. 19.Work withthe Head of Catering Services.CHoICE, including attendance at meetings as required and cover where appropriate. 20.Co ordinate and lead on internal audits as part of the quality process on all sites. 21.Fully engage and where required lead on customer/supplier complaints. 22.Ensures that the agreed departmental standards are adhered to.This requires the postholder to carry out the following :weekly formal hygiene inspections, and contribute to the development of Quality Assurance Programmes and maintianence of existing quality certifications. 23.Ensure all equipment is appropriately and regularly callibrated. 24.Attend meetings as required instructed by the Head Of Production/Services 25.Ensure an established process for food microbiological sampling, and adequate reporting of findings. 26.Undertaking of any special project work as delegated by the Head of Production/Services 27. Actively participates in the development of schemes for business development, ensuring all technical aspects of the quality control process are included. 28.At all times project a friendly, helpful, courteous and professional image when in contact with other staff and customers of the service. 29.Maintain good discipline and initiate action on quality control matters in conjunction with the Head of Food Production/Services. 30.Ensures a coherent and effective working relationship is developed and maintained with all staff. 31.An essential part of the post will be on the requirement to work flexibily in response to service needs.This will include travelling between sites in Middlesbrough and Sunderland,necessitating the relevant motorvehicle insurance for business travel, which mileage will paid at HMRC rate. 32.To ensure clear and concise reports are completed for presentation to CHoiCE Senior Managers relating to any major quality related aspects of the business. 33.Ensures that adherence to all recognised Food Hygiene & Safety policies remain active and adhere to quality processes. 34.Other key elements of the role will include; Adherence to all required statutory and legal standards Maintaining quality cerification GMP Supervision Ongoing development of Food Hygiene standards and processes such as HACCP`s. Engagement in research & Development Maintaining all aspects of the safety & Quality process.
