Manchester, M32 £40k - £55k depending on experience £320-400 per day Outside IR35 dependant on experience engineering design consultancy working closely with a wide range of clients, across a number of disciplines within the UK rail and utilities industries. We have a friendly and focussed civil engineering design team with a growing work bank within both utilities and rail. As per the form the candidate will be working primarily on water works. If they have relevant experience then can also help with our railway foundations etc. Experience just needs to be in relevant structural civils, can be in the rail industry, water industry or other similar but needs to be the same type of works – load bearing structures such as tanks, dams, retaining walls, foundations etc but for infrastructure not buildings. Foundations, storage tanks, earthworks, reinforced concrete and similar for flow enhancement works for the water industry Railway OLE foundations and assessments of OLE masts and other structures Preferred Qualifications & Experience Key Skills • Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements. • Produce design calculations and drawings. • Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates. • Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications. • Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards. • Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded. • Undertake work using formal processes and procedures. • Estimate hours required for design packages • Present and attend IDC meetings and design presentations • 10 years’ relevant design experience in structures and/or civil engineering • Graduate or HND • Good level IT • Registered with professional body and working towards chartership • Chartered engineer • Experience in temporary works design, structures and civil engineering • Awareness of construction methods and materials. • Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices. • Experience working in the utilities, water or railway industries • Proficient in TEDs, Ansys, STAAD and/or MATHCAD
