A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Strategy and Planning team as our new Head of Strategy and Planning. This exciting role could see you playing a central role in developing the future direction of Companies House and ensuring that we deliver our vision and objectives.
You will join the organisation as we implement sweeping changes arising from the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (ECCTA), as well as transforming the way we operate to support our new role. This is an exciting time to join the team as we are currently developing a new corporate strategy to guide Companies House�s work from 2025 onwards. At the same time, we are working to improve the strategic planning processes that will underpin delivery of the strategy � ensuring they support the organisation in achieving its aims
This is a high-profile role requiring collaboration and engagement across the organisation and beyond, including working closely with Board members.
The role will lead the Strategy and Planning team within the Strategy, Policy and External Communications directorate. You will play a key role in the directorate leadership team and act as a visible senior leader across the organisation � role-modelling Companies House values: adaptable, bold, curious.
The Strategy and Planning team as part of the Strategy Policy and External Communications Directorate is central to the operation and transformation of Companies House. With significant change still to come this is an exciting time to join our brilliant organisation.

Job description
You will lead the team responsible for:
1. Development of the Companies House Corporate Strategy and strategic delivery roadmap.
2. Companies House�s strategic planning process and production of annual business plans aligned to strategic objectives.
3. Compilation and production of key Companies House products including the Annual Report and Accounts and annual Parliamentary reports on the implementation of the ECCTA.
4. Working closely with Data directorate and others to monitor and evaluate progress towards delivery of annual business plans and the corporate strategy.
5. Working with stakeholders to identify and address any potential barriers to strategic delivery.
6. Reporting at Board and Executive level on progress towards strategic objectives and making recommendations to address any issues.
7. Tracking changes in the external environment and horizon scanning, ensuring strategic assumptions are factored into planning.
8. Working with Other Government Departments and external bodies to ensure alignment through strategic level discussion.
9. Providing strategic input to Spending Review and corporate level business cases.
10. Corporate prioritisation processes and evaluation of proposals for new work.
11. Working closely with the Chief Executive�s office and external communications teams to ensure a consistent strategic. narrative across Ministerial and Departmental communications.
