Location: This role will cover the Halifax / Huddersfield areas
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Confined space working and working at height are part of the role and will therefore require a medical. You will also be required to work on a standby rota

The successful applicant will help to deliver an outstanding (efficient and effective) accounting service to the whole of the Kelda group and support delivery of the department purpose, principally by provision of financial & management information for statutory and regulatory accounting purposes.
In addition, you will provide support to the wider team, and provide a high-quality financial service while adhering to working best practices and financial control procedures.
Where you fit in:
As our Resource Engineer you will
Working with the team to deliver excellent performance by understanding how individual performance links to achieving wider team objectives.
Operate within Water Quality Manual Procedures and ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Water Quality, Environment Agency, H&S, The Reservoirs Act, Water Industries Act 1991)
Maintain and promote a safe working environment at all times, both for colleagues and customers
Operate raw water assets, achieving financial targets for unit costs within regulatory compliance and in accordance with WRAP guidelines to deliver the optimum resource
Demonstrate financial awareness when making day to day business decisions and be responsible for the financial expenditure relating directly to the cost of water production and asset maintenance (excluding salaries).
Liaise with other bodies where necessary (Estate owners, Planning Authorities, National Parks, Environment Agency and Farmers etc.) in response to customer enquiries and/or complaints, resolving issues and implementing solutions
Demonstrate relentless drive, energy and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for YW that rigorously achieves our vision to overachieve against demanding competitive industry benchmarks
Be aware of the interaction of activities (planning issues, herbicide spraying, private spring supplies etc.) on other parts of the business and communicate/liaise with internal stakeholders as required.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
Previous experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours, with in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and requirements.
Be able to meet deadlines in a pressured working environment and prioritise work to meet demands
Have the ability to ensure team performance delivers the workload, informing and updating the wider business
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
Demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills, with experience of delivering against challenging business targets
Be customer-focused and keen to drive continuous improvement throughout the business
Be proficient in use of IT with the ability to learn new IT systems.
You will also benefit from having:
Previous experience in a commercially orientated and/or regulated environment
Previous experience gained within the water or waste water sectors, or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
Hold a recognised course in Reservoir Safety Supervision
