This is a supportive and inclusive school dedicated to ensuring every child receives the education and care they need to succeed. We are looking for a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide high-quality teaching for students with special educational needs.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 support for a child with SEN, ensuring they can access learning in a safe and nurturing environment.
* Assist with classroom activities, adapting resources and teaching methods to suit individual needs.
* Support the child’s social, emotional, and behavioural development.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
* Foster independence and confidence in the child through structured interventions.
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals.
* Ensure the child’s safety and well-being at all times.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD, Speech &; Language difficulties, or SEMH needs.
* A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching &; Learning, Childcare, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
* A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
