About IB Boost:
IB Boost is a software development and services house based in the UK (previously based in London, but now operating remote-first). We produce automation tools for enterprises and government for data integration, business intelligence, Robotic Process Automation, and testing automation, which are both deployed as standalone products to fully managed Software-as-a-Service style platforms in the cloud.
We have our own software suites that are leaders in their niches and gathering traction in broader markets, so we need motivated, technology-oriented people to help us grow.
Responsibilities:
* Implementing Robotic Process Automation solutions for our clients using our software suite.
* Working alongside our software client delivery teams to automate testing of the solutions.
* Engaging with clients as a consultant in a project team.
* Working with our automation software development team to improve and extend our automation capabilities.
* Developing automation business cases for our clients and RFP responses.
* Developing automated tests for verification of functionality.
* Helping the integration and extension of our automation software into our OCTANE platform.
* Helping us launch and maintain our SaaS offerings.
Required Knowledge:
* Scripting (e.g. Bash/Korn, Groovy, Python, etc.).
* Screen automation technologies (including Selenium, Playwright, and Puppeteer).
* Modern DevOps environments, particularly virtualization and containerisation (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Open Stack, etc.).
* General concepts of Linux (especially CentOS/Alma/Rocky/RHEL and Ubuntu) and Windows Server.
* General concepts of RDBMS (particularly MySQL/MariaDB/Postgres) but also an interest in in-memory persistence and column-oriented/document databases.
* Configuration and release management (DevOps tools particularly Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Vagrant, and equivalents).
* AWS or Azure (both ideally but the concepts translate).
* Source control systems (particularly Git).
Preferred Skills:
* RPA implementation - particularly in the use of software such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, and similar.
* UI-based Testing Automation - especially exposure to the incumbents in the enterprise space like UFT, Tosca, Test Complete, and Ranorex.
* Development Testing Tools - tools and frameworks designed for use in the development cycle like Selenium, Playwright, Puppeteer, Cypress, Karma, Sauce Labs, JMeter, JUnit, Cucumber, and Mockito.
* Scripting skills - we use shell scripts, Powershell, VBA, Groovy, Python, and others.
* DevOps lifecycle management - familiarity with modern DevOps practices and use of CI/CD tools. We use Jenkins, Nexus, and SonarQube.
* Interfaces and APIs - understanding and ability to converse in requirements and usage of APIs (RESTful, SOAP, RMI, etc.) and other interfacing approaches (MQ, secure file exchange, databases, etc.).
* Design and presentation skills - particularly creating visually-appealing documents for our software and client projects.
Work Environment:
While we were originally remote-friendly, since COVID we are now remote-first and do not currently offer a permanent physical space. Our team works well in cyberspace (bringing back that term!) but due to our client work we're only looking for UK-based staff currently.
You'll get to work with a close-knit team of amazing people who are passionate about technology. You'll learn lots, and you'll have a good laugh in the process.
If you enjoy automating random tasks just because you can, tinkering with software, arguing about why colleagues should or should not buy an RTX3090, can tolerate egg-based memes, enjoy watching or participating in eating challenges, and generally want to automate the heck out of everything then we're probably for you. So tell us about it!
Due to our work with government clients, candidates must be able to pass UK Security Clearance for the roles available at the current time.
Application Process:
To apply directly, please email your CV and a cover letter showing why we should work together to people@ib-boost.com.
Please note: You must already have the right to work in the UK to be considered for this position.
