Audit Scotland is Scotland’s national public sector audit agency with the purpose of providing clear, independent, and objective assurance on how effectively public funds are managed and spent, ensuring transparency and accountability across Scotland’s public sector.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Corporate Services to play a pivotal leadership role in driving operational excellence and supporting Audit Scotland’s strategic objectives. In this critical role, you will provide expert advice and guidance to the Board, Executive Management Team, and senior stakeholders.
As Director of Corporate Services, you will lead and develop high-performing teams across key corporate functions, ensuring efficiency, resilience, and best value in everything we do. You will be part of the Leadership Group, working alongside dedicated professionals who are committed to Audit Scotland’s mission and ambitious for its future.
In this role, you will:
* Coach and develop your Heads of Service, ensuring all areas remain fit for purpose, agile, and aligned to both current and future needs of the organisation.
* Champion innovation, embracing emerging technology and data analytics to enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and support strategic decision-making.
* Ensure robust governance, with strong systems and controls that enable high-quality service delivery, organisational resilience, and best value performance.
* Drive collaboration, leading by example to promote a culture of openness, teamwork, and cross-organisational working.
* Foster a positive organisational culture, championing Audit Scotland’s values of equality, independence, innovation, integrity, and respect.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader with a proven track record in leading, managing, and developing diverse, high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in successfully delivering major business transformation or improvement programmes.
Bringing exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to influence, resolve conflict, and build trusted relationships at all levels. Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate complex issues, providing sound, evidence-based recommendations, are also essential.
