We are recruiting to one of our 8a clinical psychology posts within our welcoming and busy CAMHS team. The post is substantive and full-time but we are happy to consider applications for part-time hours. You will be joining a well-established multi-disciplinary team where we prioritise supervision and opportunities for professional development. We would want to build on the strengths of the successful applicant in relation to therapeutic modalities and opportunities for service development where possible.
Clinical psychology is well integrated and highly valued both within the Rochdale team and within the CAMHS care hub across Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. We work closely through the care hub Psychological Therapies workstream to share best practice and to continue to develop excellence in our work with children and families, including clinical research.
This post is based with CAMHS at the Birch Hill Hospital site, but clinical
appointments may also be offered at a range of sites across the borough (Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale).
As a member of the multi-disciplinary CAMHS team, the post-holder will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, including for children who may also have a neurodevelopmental condition. The post-holder will develop and implement psychological therapeutic plans of care with children, young people and their families
based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of their difficulties, and will offer specialist therapy in a range of therapeutic modalities.
The post-holder will also provide specialist psychologically informed advice, guidance, supervision and consultation to other professionals, and contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to benefit all clients of the service, potentially impacting across all settings and agencies serving the client group.
The post-holder will provide supervision to some qualified and pre-qualified staff.
The post will include working as part of the duty team on a rota basis, although as the service currently operates with a defined duty team, duty responsibilities are kept to a minimum.
There will be opportunities for the post-holder to take a lead on a
clinical pathway or area of service delivery in line with their experience and interests, and to contribute to service development, which may require use of research skills for audit and policy development
