Behaviour Mentor Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated and resilient individual to support students with behavioural challenges in secondary schools in and around Newport. You will play a vital role in helping individuals navigate social barriers and attain academic success. This role is ideal for someone who is genuinely passionate about nurturing the growth and wellbeing of young people and is committed to making a positive difference in their lives. You will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement effective strategies that promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being. Your expertise will help create a safe and nurturing environment where all students can succeed. Location: Newport Start Date: ASAP Hours: Full Time. Monday-Friday Pay: £12.90 per hour (depending on experience) Successful Candidate Criteria: - Assess individual student needs and develop tailored behaviour management plans. - Provide one-on-one mentoring and support for students facing behavioural challenges. - Create a positive relationship with student/s to establish trust. - Generate a positive and inclusive learning environment to promote wellbeing and support pupil’s physical and mental health. - Ensure safeguarding regulations are maintained throughout the school day. - Collaborate with teachers to implement and monitor behaviour interventions in the classroom setting. Requirements: - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff. - Previous experience working with children/young people who have had behavioural management needs is desirable. - DBS and Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration is needed – Teaching Personnel can assist you with applying for these.
