As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students' learning and well-being by working in collaboration with teachers. This role involves providing one-to-one and small-group support to help students overcome challenges and achieve academic success. Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant: Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons. Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, adapting resources and strategies to meet their individual needs. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and valued. Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe, productive atmosphere. Support students with their learning, ensuring they stay on task and engaged. Contribute to the assessment of student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Work closely with colleagues to develop strategies for students requiring additional support. Requirements of the Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students’ development. Basic understanding of Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum topics (training will be provided if needed). A flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving and adapting to students' needs. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
