Woodley School and College is seeking to appoint an experienced and capable Advanced Business Support Officer to work at a satellite provision in Crosland Moor but may be required to work if necessary, at the main Woodley School and College site.

Woodley School and College is a Kirklees Local Authority aspirational, inclusive and outward looking special school in Huddersfield for children aged 5-19 with complex autism. There are currently 171 pupils on roll. The school is rated as 'Good' by Ofsted (2023), holds Advanced Autism Accreditation and is the Autism Education Trust licensed training provider for Kirklees Local Authority. This recognises the highest standards of autism expertise and practice and underpins the school’s important role as a school training hub. Working as an integral part of the school’s business support and inclusion teams and taking particular responsibility for aspects of the administration/additional needs management of the statutory obligations to those students who have special educational needs, whilst providing guidance to staff. Responsible for managing, developing and monitoring the school attendance data systems, to identify and target pupils requiring further support, consulting with parents, educational social workers, and feeder schools, both to facilitate and implement an agreed programme of support with regards to pupils who meet agreed intervention criteria and identify pupils who may require such support in the future. Manage and develop a display area for attendance, organization of awards, and pupil achievements. Accountable to the Children and Families Team Manager, Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo), Business Support Manager and School Leadership Team (SLT), your specific duties and responsibilities will include:
* Maintain aspects of the operational implementation of the school’s Special Educational Needs policy.
* Work with the Headteacher or named SENCo to provide direction to the Teaching Staff around EHCP’s.
* Collate data for/Produce reports on aspects of the role as required by the school’s leadership team or Governors.
* Manage the school’s administrative arrangements in relation to Statutory Assessment, Annual Review, Transitional Reviews and IEP/ANP development and review.
* Maintain and keep up to date the school’s SEN records.
* Manage arrangements for consultation with outside agencies and feeder or destination schools on SEN matters such as student transfer, assessment and external support.
* Identify possible sources of funding for SEN.
* Attend and hold meetings appropriate to the role. Distribute appropriate information related to students.
* Support the communication with parents.
* Contribute to staff training on SEN as appropriate.
* Contribute to the induction of new staff in relation to Business Support SEN processes and procedures.
* Be responsible for the management, recording, maintaining and processing of data on the relevant attendance packages.
* Monitor registration and follow-up on any outstanding registers by issuing appropriate reminders to staff. Maintain accurate records of registration for the Head Teacher/Senior Leadership Team.
* Report to parents on specific aspects of information required regarding systems and practices relating to attendance.
* Operate systems for monitoring pupil attendance and punctuality.
* Consult with the Children and Families Team and appropriate staff regarding pupil absence and lateness.
* Meet regularly with the Business Support and Children and Family Support Teams.
* Consult with parents/guardians for Children and family support functions by phone, invitation to school and to facilitate the support programme for the pupil.
* Consult with feeder schools and assist in the ‘transition’ support and consult with appropriate staff to ensure that systems and practice are in place.
