Sun Originals is a brand new video production studio making premium series for The Sun, Sun Sport and Fabulous brands. Creating, developing and producing a slate of brand new original shows, the team are helping The Sun reach its next generation of viewers. Your Role: As Production Manager, reporting into the Head of Production, you will oversee the smooth delivery of all original video formats published by the Sun Video Team. Supported by a Production Coordinator, you will work closely with the commissioning editors and their production teams to assess any early risks, create reasonable timelines, and be across budgets. Suitable candidates should have a solid track record working on fast paced, high volume digital shortform programming for platforms such as YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook with resilience and understanding the knock-on of changes to plans and adapting accordingly. Day to day you will: Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the original video production team Manage the production schedule and run the weekly resource meeting Accurately track projects, timing and spend, helping to manage departmental budgets Create reasonable and achievable budgets for new commissioned shows Report on variable project spend, flagging any potential risks early Set up and run kick off meetings for new commissions Oversee the Project Coordinator and their creation of Call Sheets and Risk Assessments Liaise with suppliers and broker the best deals Arrange for freelancer support as and when needed Develop a strong network of creative suppliers Work closely with the HOP to develop new working processes Protect our relationship with the commercial team and ensure the smooth supply of assets and deliverables What we are looking for from you Proven experience within Digital Shortform production environment at manager level An excellent understanding of project management and the creative and operational production process. Experience of working across high volume projects at one time Excellent attention to detail. Highly organised with excellent ability to manage own and others time. Pro-active can-do attitude with a willingness to take initiative. Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own time and work to meet demanding deadlines Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate, prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment.
