An long term contract opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highways NEC Supervisor to work on a major highways project in the Cambridge area. You will be required to work 40 hour weeks Monday to Friday on site. Working collaboratively within an integrated delivery team as NEC Supervisor, you will be responsible for the below. This position falls inside IR35, CIS is an option.
The role
1. Undertaking the duties of Supervisor as stated in the Contract (NEC 4 ECC)
2. Acquainting yourself with the schemes design and raising queries with regards to constructability in terms of safety and quality
3. Reviewing the Inspection and Test Plans to agree witnessing requirements
4. Witnessing on-site testing and commissioning and keeping appropriate records of results
5. Identification and notification of any Defects in accordance with the Contract
6. Verifying the standards of work and the materials supplied by the contractor are as specified in accordance with the Contract
7. Monitoring the progress of the works providing advice to the Client Project Manager of any risks and issues
8. Submitting reports on a weekly basis to the Client Project Manager to advise on progress and the status of construction related safety, quality and completion issues
9. Maintaining appropriate records of site inspections, tests and audits
10. Attending meetings and inspections, both on and off site as required
11. As part of the integrated delivery team you will be expected to contribute to:
12. Maintaining high standards of safety and quality control on the contract via the monitoring of the construction works
13. Resolution of technical problems on site
14. Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting and collaborating with the integrated delivery team to form strong working relationships
Qualifications/Experience
1. NEC4 ECC Supervisor Accreditation
2. Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or related disciplines
3. Experience of the design and construction of highway infrastructure projects
4. Good writing, client-facing and communication skills
5. Diligent, proactive and thorough approach to detail
6. Collaborative and practical approach to problem solving
7. Knowledge of the Design Manual Road and Bridges and Specification for Highway Works
8. Experience in carrying out duties of NEC supervisor
9. Working knowledge of the NEC Contract
