Job Description:
An exciting job role has recently become available at Walsall Council. They are looking for a new member for their Duty and Assessment Team.
Details on role:
* As a Duty and Assessment Social Worker for Walsall Council, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments and providing immediate support and intervention for children and families in need.
* You will work within the Duty and Assessment team to respond to new referrals, ensuring the safeguarding and wellbeing of children at risk.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to the service.
* Respond to new referrals and undertake initial assessments and visits.
* Develop and implement plans to support children and families, ensuring a child-focused approach.
* Work closely with multi-agency partners to provide effective safeguarding and intervention services.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements.
* Present cases in Child Protection Conferences and court proceedings as needed.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
* Proven experience working in Duty and Assessment or Children’s Services teams.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
* Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Ability to work under pressure and manage a complex caseload.
* Previous experience working within a local authority setting.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
