Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Metabolism Chemist to join our Analytical Methods & Metabolism (AMM) team and take on the challenge of elucidating the metabolism of active ingredients in the agrochemical sector. Within the role you'll apply chemistry / biochemistry expertise to study molecular breakdown in simulated environmental conditions, supporting sustainable crop protection products registration, while providing crucial scientific data to ensure product safety of our active ingredients. Recent example includes TYMIRIUM technology registration, which protects crops against soil-borne pests. Key responsibilities will include:
* Independently design and carry out experiments to elucidate metabolism and environmental fate processes.
* Provide innovative experimental solutions to technical challenges as they arise.
* Lead and/or participate in metabolism data reviews for active ingredient teams, presenting insights gained from your practical work.
* Independently provide expert technical assistance to external suppliers to facilitate technical knowledge transfer.
* Manage laboratory aspects including instruments and software while pursuing personal development and training opportunities.
Qualifications
What we are looking for?
* Degree in chemistry/biochemistry/biology-based discipline or equivalent work experience.
* Practical laboratory skills in chemical (synthetic, analytical) or biological (environmental, microbiological) settings.
* Experience of chromatographic and analytical techniques such as high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
* The desire and aspiration to grow and develop in a laboratory based analytical and problem-solving role.
* Collaborative critical thinker with strong communication skills.
