Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in the use of hand and power tools. This role involves assembling, installing, and repairing piping systems in various settings, including residential and commercial properties. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as required.
Responsibilities
1. Assemble and install plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
2. Diagnose and repair plumbing issues such as leaks, blockages, and faulty installations.
3. Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations during all plumbing work.
4. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
5. Perform welding tasks as necessary for pipe repairs or installations.
6. Conduct routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent future issues.
7. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters, to complete projects efficiently.
8. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a plumber or in a similar role is preferred.
2. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
3. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to plumbing tasks.
4. Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to plumbing installations.
5. Valid commercial driving licence is an advantage but not mandatory.
6. Ability to perform heavy lifting when required for installations or repairs.
7. A background in carpentry is a plus but not essential.
8. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
