Main duties of the job
Newly/recently qualified Pharmacy Technicians, or existing Pharmacy Technicians:
As a Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician, your role will involve:
1. Maintaining the supply chain of Clinical Trial medications to research nurses.
2. Maintaining financial records and completing drug accountability activities.
3. Closing down and archiving completed studies.
4. Facilitating meetings from sponsors.
A successful candidate should possess relevant Pharmacy Technician qualification and registration with GPHC.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Core Role as a Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician:
1. Obtain and maintain Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
2. Apply principles of GCP in the management of clinical trials.
3. Communicate with Investigators, Research Nurses, Trust R&D, Sponsors, Clinical Research Associates, and Pharmacy staff during the clinical trial process.
4. Ensure clinical trial protocols and SOPs are followed during dispensing of clinical trial investigational medicinal products.
5. Order and receive clinical trial drugs and process receipt paperwork.
6. Check stock levels and expiry dates of clinical trial drugs.
7. Assist with the preparation for monitoring meetings, audits, and inspections.
8. Maintain Clinical Trial files ensuring items are presentable and easily located.
Person specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent, and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Experience
* Ability to work at an isolator fully gloved and gowned.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Clinical Trials experience.

Technical Skills
