The Learning Disabilities Service provides a range of services for people in the West Midlands to assist them in managing their learning disabilities. All our services are provided by teams of clinical professionals and support staff who aim to provide integrated services in ways that best meet the needs of patients and their carers. This role is demanding; applicants will be self-motivated and must enjoy working within a multi-disciplinary team and have the ability to relate to our service users, carers, parents and members of the public. The post holder will provide a high level of administrative on a day-to-day basis complemented by excellent organizational and communication skills. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of electronic systems including Rio. Main duties of the job Provide a meet and greet service to all who access the department ensuring a polite, efficient and professional introduction is given to all patients, staff and other visitors, maintaining a signing in/out book. To support the provision of a comprehensive administrative word processing service using Microsoft Office packages on a day to day basis, ie audio typing (digital and analogue), databases, spread sheets, email, fax, diary management, filing, scanning. Deal with routine correspondence, using own initiative and within the scope of the post. Producing typed routine and non-routine letters reports, agenda's and minutes to a high standard as requested by managers and clinicians. Undertake data input as required on appropriate information systems. Type clinical correspondence as required and requested by Team Administrators, Managers and Clinicians. Provide support with the patient pathway process as per the electronic patient record system (Rio), as and when required eg referrals, clinical coding, appointments, domiciliary visits, questionnaires, assessments/clinic lists, prescription. Notify manager/clinician of potential or real delays for a patient in the pathway particularly with regard to the RTT status.
