Senior Piping Designer - Site Based, Teesside
Altrad Major Projects business are currently expanding due to a number of project successes in the North East. To support our growth we are looking to recruit a Senior Piping Designer to be based at our client site facility as part of the project team on a contract basis.
As part of the opportunity you will work within a multi-discipline team to deliver a fully integrated destruct/construct philosophy for a major plant equipment replacement project.

What will you be doing?
The appointed will take a review of client documentation and drawings with confirmation of validity against current plant configuration while conducting site surveys of existing pipework, pipe supports, and connected items.
You will also carry out:
* Determination of piping tie-In points using basic process data, best practice, client preference, and consideration of the resulting scope
* Development of appropriate sketches/drawings/mark-ups to supplement any gaps in client records
* Import of client laser scan data into 3D CAD reference model
* Preparation of piping stress isometrics where required
* Marking of P&IDs allow for communication of scope boundaries with Process
* Preparation of piping material take-offs
So what do you need to be considered?
* Experience in AutoCAD 2D/3D, Aveva E3D, and similar drafting packages.
* Experience of site work, manual layout methods and surveying
* Experience with laser scanning and 3D modelling and other relevant innovative technologies within a design environment
* Awareness or some knowledge of specialist areas such as pipe stress analysis and construction methods
* Development of layouts in the 3D workspace
* Detailed experience of P&IDs and isometric piping drawings
* Site surveys and visual condition assessments
* Experience of Site H&S requirements, Code of conduct and sound ethics as required by Professional bodies and employers
* Experience within a client facing role and/or chemical manufacturing environment (desired)
* Self-starter, able to navigate and rationalise design information and records
* Problem solving, ability to develop solutions to complex issues
* Team player, strong communication and organisational skills
