If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a successful IT Solutions company based in Middlewich. They are looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join their team to provide 2nd and 3rd line support to a growing customer base.
The company has been operating for 20 years and services small to medium sized businesses across Cheshire. They focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, which has built them a reputation for excellence in the IT industry.
We are ideally looking for someone with 3 years' experience in a similar IT Support role who is a confident communicator and ideally has worked in customer-facing roles in the past.
As a Senior IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:
1. Accurately and efficiently troubleshoot software and hardware faults for customers, either remotely or out on client sites.
2. Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues.
3. Provide support for existing IT systems, infrastructure, and networks.
4. Support on existing and new IT projects - including making technical recommendations in the scoping of IT projects for clients.
5. Audit new clients' IT systems and infrastructure, reporting back to customers on the findings and making recommendations for improvement where possible.
6. Work towards and complete Microsoft Certifications to support development.
7. Conduct system audits and assessments to ensure compliance and security best practices.
Skills/Experience required:
1. At least 3 years' experience in a similar role and broad technical knowledge.
2. Windows Servers and Desktop Operating Systems (7/8/10).
3. Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
4. Understanding of networking protocols - LAN/WAN, Switches, Routers, Firewalls.
5. Microsoft Exchange.
6. Office 365 administration and configuration.
7. Virtualisation technologies (VMware and/or Hyper-V).
8. Excellent communication skills and confidence in a client-facing role.
The role will involve some travel to local client sites (all within 1 hour) so a full UK driving license is essential for this role. There is a company vehicle available for use and a fuel card for business use.
This is an office-based position between Monday and Friday with working hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm, with 1 week in 4 on call.
