The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer to join our team.
The Senior Web Developer is responsible for overseeing the development and deployment of web projects, specialising in backend development with a focus on Laravel. This role includes leading projects, reviewing and approving code before it goes live, and ensuring high standards in development practices and output.

Your Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
* Lead web development projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
* Provide technical direction and guidance to the web development team throughout the project lifecycle.
Code Review and Quality Assurance
* Review and approve code written by other developers to ensure quality, performance, and security standards are met.
* Identify and resolve issues in code, optimising for maintainability and scalability.
* Establish and enforce best practices for coding, testing, and deployment processes.
Backend Development and Laravel Expertise
* Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Laravel, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
* Develop APIs and integrate third-party services to support application functionality.
* Stay up to date with Laravel updates, features, and best practices, sharing knowledge with the team.
Team Collaboration and Mentorship
* Work closely with frontend developers, designers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of backend systems.
Deployment and Maintenance
* Oversee deployment processes, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production environments.
* Monitor live systems to identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring high availability and performance.
* Implement and manage version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
Skills and Qualifications
* Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in PHP, MySQL, 3rd Party API’s and Laravel, with experience in designing scalable backend systems.
* Code Quality: Strong focus on writing clean, maintainable, and secure code.
* Work Assignment: Proven ability to assign, track, and manage tasks effectively across a development team.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
* Collaboration: Excellent communication skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
* Experience: Minimum 6+ years in web development, with a track record of delivering successful projects using Laravel.
Desirable
* Strong expertise in Laravel to lead and contribute effectively to Laravel-specific projects.
* Experience with frontend technologies (e.g., JavaScript, Vue.js) to support collaboration with frontend teams.
* Knowledge of database management (e.g., MySQL) and optimisation techniques.
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes for automated testing and deployment.
