We are seeking a Lead Multi Skilled Engineer for a full-time permanent position on behalf of our client based in Scunthorpe.
This position will entail Leading Electrical & Mechanical engineers with maintenance on a variety of food production machinery. The role will be an 80/20 split between on the tools work and administrative duties such as creating RAMS, PTW and communicating and conducting meetings with the senior management team.
The ideal candidate will have an Electrical/Mechanical FMCG background with leadership and or people management experience.
Specific machinery training/familiarisation shall be provided.

Job Description
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of site mechanical and electrical technicians. Working closely with production, operations and technical to improve engineering standards and efficiency, being also responsible for the training and development of the engineering team within your area of control. Previous experience with PLC and electro mechanical FMCG environments would be ideal.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading by Example: Driving the team from the front, this key role requires active participation in all tasks and processes.
2. Hands-On Approach: Ensuring a proactive and leading approach to addressing issues and managing tasks.
3. CMMS Reporting: Ensuring all work is promptly and accurately reported on the Shire CMMS system, maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and tasks.
4. Shift Handover Communication: Ensuring smooth transition of information between shifts, actively engaging with the Area Manager to gather critical details and effectively communicating shift handover information to technicians and operators.
5. Attend SIC Shift Production Meeting: Active participation in SIC shift production meetings, contributing insights and updates relevant to engineering operations.
6. Address Production Issues: Identifying and addressing key production issues, collaborating with Area Managers to develop effective action plans and ensure timely acquisition of critical spares.
7. Team Briefing: Providing clear and concise briefings to the team on upcoming tasks, activities, and priorities.
8. Review Plan for Maintenance: Identifying opportunities for planned maintenance and remedial work, coordinating with the team to ensure readiness and effective execution.
9. Management of Contract Labour: Management of contract labour activities during shift with effective communication between operations and engineering.
10. Shift Performance Review: Review performance of the shift with Area Managers in readiness for shift handover, ensuring 100% lost time is accounted for during your shift.
11. Conduct Root Cause Analysis: Detailed Root Cause Analysis reports for all major stoppages, segregations, and seam defects to facilitate resolution and prevention.
12. Break Adherence: Manage your team's breaks in conjunction with production needs to ensure that lines run to their optimal performance.
13. Meeting Attendance: Ensure meeting attendance as and when required with a focus on internal customer support.
14. Planning of Remedial Work: Planning and coordinating remedial work, ensuring timely acquisition of all necessary components and resources.
15. Control of Contractors: Managing contractors and permits to work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and adequate Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) preparation for your shift.
16. Apprentice Training: Providing training and mentorship to apprentices, ensuring their development and progression within the team.
17. Safety Management: Prioritizing the safety and well-being of all employees, implementing and maintaining rigorous safety protocols and practices.
18. Food Safety Standards: Managing required standards of food safety, hygiene & GMP for the site within your engineering team.
19. Risk Assessments: Ensure risk assessments for all non-routine tasks are in place before commencement of work.
