Our dedicated team will be at the forefront, driving energy efficiency and improving living standards for residents About the Role: As a General Operative, you will play a crucial role in supporting our retrofit projects, ensuring housing properties meet the highest standards of energy efficiency and sustainability. Your responsibilities will include assisting with various tasks, from site preparation and material handling to aiding skilled tradespeople in delivering top-notch retrofit solutions. Assist with site preparation and clean-up Handle and transport materials safely and efficiently Support skilled tradespeople in retrofit activities Install insulation, windows, and energy-efficient systems as directed Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks to support retrofit goals Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Maintain a high standard of work quality and attention to detail Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met Report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor promptly Participate in site meetings and provide input on project improvements Take initiative and ownership in undertaking allocated tasks and supporting delivery of planned works activities aiming for a first time completion whilst remaining within budget and time parameters Provide high levels of customer care at all times Responsible for working at heights Role Criteria: Experience in the above duties Full UK driving license EWI experience Knowledge of PAS 2035 domestic retrofit Asbestos Awareness Working at heights / scaffolding Benefits we can offer you 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Van, fuel card and uniform Annual Mears Fun Day - Our annual Fun Day is organised as a massive thank you from the Executive team for all the hard work Volunteering Leave - Mears supports employees to undertake paid volunteering in the community, in support of our social value commitment.
