About the role:
As the Assistant Principal, Curriculum Quality and Development you will play a significant strategic and operational role in leading the development and improvement of all aspects of quality and development, as well as teaching and learning, across the 16-19 curriculum. The role also comprises leadership of Heads of Curriculum, alongside developing our approach to teacher training and working with Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
Principal responsibilities as our Assistant Principal, Curriculum, Quality and Development include:
3. Implementing all quality processes and systems in curriculum areas ensuring they consistently strive to develop and improve.
4. Leading the work of Heads of Curriculum, supporting them in developing and improving curriculum and quality.
5. Analysing headline and subject area results and key performance indicators within the 16-19 curriculum across the year, to support Heads of Curriculum, and inform the Deputy Principal, of areas for development and improvement.
6. Working closely with the Quality Assurance Lead to ensure that the College is compliant with all quality and centre reviews.
7. Establishing priorities and lead the development of teaching, learning and pedagogical practice across the College, ensuring that pedagogy meets current and future learner needs.
8. Overseeing the development, implementation, and review of the 16-19 curriculum transition programme.
9. Working closely with the Learning Technologist to ensure that IT and technological developments are implemented effectively across the curriculum.
10. Ensuring that the College is compliant with all internal and external examination process, procedures, and regulations.
11. Overseeing the planning and delivery of the Enrichment Programme provision, ensuring activities support the development of students’ wider skills, qualities, attributes, and interests.
12. Overseeing the continued professional development and learning activities across the College, ensuring that college-wide objectives, targets, and other needs are reflected in the activities undertaken.
13. Overseeing the programme of activity for trainee teachers and ECTs across their training period.
14. Taking a full and active role in the planning and delivery of the College’s Strategic Plan, regularly monitoring progress towards its achievement in areas of responsibility.

25. A creative approach to planning, development and problem solving.
26. The ability to navigate and manage challenging situations effectively.
27. Evidence of relevant continued professional development and/or training.
28. Degree level and teaching qualifications.
