A new brilliant opportunity is now available for a passionate Deputy Manager to join Xealthcare's exceptional clients residential care home on a permanent, full-time contract. The care home is located in an easily commutable area within Newcastle upon Tyne, with direct links to public transport in the local village.
The medium-sized care home offers residential care, dementia care, and respite care for elderly residents. The care home has been rated 'GOOD' following their most recent CQC inspection.
Position: Deputy Care Manager
As a Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the care team to ensure the provision of high-quality care and assistance to our clients' residents. In addition to coaching the care staff and team leaders, you will support the Registered Care Manager with staff management tasks where necessary and required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading and supervising the team, acting as a role model in support of staff to work within the standards, always promoting best practice.
2. Work closely with the Home Manager, taking the lead in their absence, for all regulatory and compliance requirements, and necessary notifications to CQC. Assist with reviewing budgets, staff rotas, complaints, and relationship building with external regulatory bodies.
3. Understanding of standards of care, regulatory frameworks and bodies, and relevant legislation.
4. Experience of embedding robust and effective care policies, procedures, and auditing/quality assurance systems.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of NVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care required; candidates who are eager and committed to undertake this qualification are also encouraged to apply.
2. Prior experience in a care home setting or similar role is preferred.
3. Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in the well-being of elderly individuals.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
6. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
7. Respect for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
