- SENCO to join our close-knit team at Oakham Shires School.
To provide a high-quality education service for our students in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body.
To work with the Head Teacher, leadership team and other stakeholders to secure high standards throughout the school.
Support and direct the Headteacher in leading and managing the school A fully qualified teacher (QTS).
Play a major role, under the overall direction of the Headteacher, in growing the school to its full capacity as well as formulating and reviewing the School Improvement Plan and the aims and objectives of the school by: Establishing the policies through which they shall be achieved.
Monitoring progress towards their achievement.
Playing a key role in the school self-review process.
Collate documents of new students and create Provision Passports for each pupil Ensure that school policies and procedures are in line with the latest government SEN policies and regulations Preparing and leading SEN training for all staff About the school Oakham Shires School is an Independent Special School for 11-18 year olds who are Autistic and have associated diagnosis and special education needs. The school delivers a specialist curriculum for pupils who have struggled to cope in a mainstream or larger SEN educational setting and are, as a result, working below age expected stage. Pupils are taught in small class groups of 4 -5 with a high staff to pupil ratio. Pupils are supported to achieve their Outcomes within their Education Health Care Plan, develop life skills and achieve accreditations in Maths, English and Science.
