The Management Accountant is a pivotal role within the Finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance and working closely with colleagues across all departments. The Role The Management Accountant will oversee all aspects of financial planning, monitoring, and reporting, supporting the Head of Finance and department heads across Operations, Infrastructure, HR, and Enterprise, Engagement & Marketing. The role ensures that financial targets and objectives within the operational plan are achieved. Key responsibilities: Preparation of departmental financial plans, budgets, and projections Preparation of financial reports for key stakeholders, including the executive management team, board of management, governance committees, funding bodies, and financial institutions Review, measure, and analyse financial performance against plans and objectives Identify areas of under-performance and inefficiency; recommend improvements to management Conduct regular financial reviews with department heads to support strategic decision-making Serve as a key contact for external auditors; support the Head of Finance with annual audit processes and reporting Act as the main contact for internal auditors and manage internal audit processes in line with governance requirements and objectives set by the Audit & Risk Management Committee Ensure effective financial reporting systems are in place across all activities, with recommendations for improvement as needed Support the Finance team in maintaining effective financial processes and controls Candidate requirements: Qualified or part-qualified accountant, ideally with experience in the public or not-for-profit sector. Strong financial technical skills are essential, Excellent communication, organisational skills, high numeracy, attention to detail, and strong IT proficiency Salary: Up to £50,700 including strong benefits package
