Applications are invited for the post of a Supported Internship Job Coaches primarily based at local employers. The role is to provide coaching, support and guidance to young people with learning disabilities. You will support interns to learn their placement tasks and provide the necessary coaching, training and encouragement to succeed. You will work closely with mentors on the host site to ensure they are supported and can confidently manage and train their intern. You will facilitate their progression into paid employment by supporting interns to make direct contact with employers and by carrying out your own employer engagement. You will also be required to liaise with family and carers of the young person and complete relevant paperwork as necessary. We are looking for people who are highly motivated, with experience of supporting people with disabilities as well as providing information, advice and guidance. You will need to have high expectations of people with learning disabilities and have excellent coaching skills. You will need to be an excellent networker with the ability to build and retain partnerships both internally and externally, liaise with family and carers, and have good problem solving and negotiation skills. You will also be required to complete DWP and College paperwork as necessary. The working hours for this post will be agreed upon appointment, these will fall between 8.00am and 3.30pm and will be for a minimum of 2 hours per session, variable hours up to 18 hours per week.
